What is SA Ready
to Work?

 

Aedis Urban is a proud partner and Community Champion of SA Ready to Work, an educational and job placement program to help San Antonio residents improve their quality of life. This one-of-a-kind program connects San Antonians to education and quality jobs - and, ultimately, well-paid careers that can sustain their families.

What does Ready to Work do?

  • Provides participants with a personal Ready to Work coach that is committed to their success

  • Gets to know participants and understands their specific situations

  • Provides guidance and resources throughout the process

  • Guides participants through career and education exploration and planning

  • Offers a variety of programs, including high school equivalency, certification courses, Associate degree courses, and Bachelor degree courses

  • Helps participants enroll in approved courses

  • Connects participants with tuition assistance and funds for urgent needs

  • Helps participants secure and retain well-paid jobs

How does Ready to Work help?

 

Ready to Work makes continuing education and finding a quality job easier for San Antonians. Ready to Work offers a variety of programs for customizable career paths. Ready to Work coaching includes:

  • Assessing participant skills, interests, and goals

  • Identifying classes in line with a future career

  • Building profiles on LinkedIn and WorkInTexas.com

  • Preparing for interviews

  • Improving soft skills

  • Connecting participants with quality job opportunities

  • Helping understand employer benefits

  • Planning finances

  • Helping participants thrive in the workplace

COMMITTED TO SUCCESS
Ready to Work identifies +
addresses barriers 

A growing network of job training programs and service providers offers eligible participants the opportunity to upskill and access higher-paying jobs. Through community partnerships, resources like food assistance, expunctions, travel assistance, childcare, and more are available to help participants overcome the barriers to completing their training..

Eligibility Criteria

  • San Antonio resident - Check your residency here

  • 18 years or older when applying for the program

  • Permitted to work in the US

  • Annual household income is less than 250% of the federal poverty guidelines

  • Willing to take assessments related to barriers, academics, skills aptitude, and workplace readiness

  • Committed to completing the program

  • Not currently enrolled in college

NOTE: Eligibility will be verified during the application process
